Scripps is a large private, non-profit research organization engaged in basic biomedical science. Located at La Jolla California since 1924 and home to 3000 scientists, technicians, graduate students, & administrative staff this makes it one of the most important private biomedical non-profit organizations in the United States of a America, if not in the world.   Since Jeb Bush’s initial top-secret meetings at Scripps La Jolla campus in July 2003, The Floridian branch of the California based research institute is taking shape in the form of labs at the Florida Atlantic University in Jupiter. Scripps scientists have begun projects that aim to combat ailments including cancer, diabetes and many more diseases. Future projects will focus on HIV, and pharmacology.
